Why the Cross?
1. The Person of the Cross.
- The main reason for everything is to bring glory to God, and to his son Jesus Christ, who has reconciled all things through his death on the cross.
Gal 6:14-15 “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,”
2. The Purpose of the Cross.
- Jesus ultimately came to free us from sin, from it’s consequences and it’s power over us.
“by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”
3. The Power of the Cross.
- Jesus came to make me a new person. By God’s grace and not religion, there should be a distinct difference in the life of every Believer.
“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”
LESSON - 2 Cor 5:17-18 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation” Has the Cross of Christ made a change in your life? If so, He wants to work through you (your testimony and your witness) to change the lives of others.
