Our Goal…A Faith greater than fear!

When the descendants of Joseph received their inheritance, they felt slighted. They only saw what was and not what could be.

1. The problem - My eyes say “not enough”!

Josh. 17:14-18 “And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?”

2. The solution - Your faith should see more.

“And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.”

3. The obstacle - My fear says “the enemy is too strong”.

“And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.”

4. The victory - Realizing that we can because God is ALWAYS greater.

“And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only: But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.”

LESSON - Feelings and fear will always drive us to see only what is, and not what can be. They are the culprits to our weakened faith. Faith responds to an omnipotent God. God’s word should remind us that what God has done He still can do! Dare to dream about what can be and realize that if it is in accordance with God‘s will, it WILL be done!

Eph. 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us”
