Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
LESSON - When Paul entered Athens, he encountered groups called the Epicureans and Stoicks. History tells us that these groups were atheists, following a form of pantheism. Here Paul deals with the very essence of there belief system:
1. There is a God
2. He gives us life (live)
3. He gives us direction (move)
4. He gives us purpose (have our being)
5. He is family, we can know Him (we are His offspring) If we neglect to spend time with the Lord, we take for granted our privilege of knowing God on a personal level. If we completely ignore Him, we are no better than the atheists or pantheists who worship themselves and the things of this world. Please never forget that we owe Him everything!
