We cannot outrun the love of God!

Updated: Jun 11

Chapter 33 is, in essence, Moses’ benediction to the nation of Israel. In this chapter he offers a blessing for each tribe while expressing his overwhelming love for all of them. He also reveals the close relationship that God has with His people.

1. They were in God’s hand and at His feet.

V3 “Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.”

2. They were between His shoulders.

V12 “And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.”

3. They were upheld by His arms .

V27 "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.”

LESSON - In Deut. 32:10, God also refers to Israel as “the apple of His eye.” God’s people have always maintained a special place in the heart and mind of God. We must never forget this, even in times of disappointment and despair. God loves us all with an everlasting love.

Jer. 31:3 “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”

Jn. 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
