The worship He deserves

The temptation of Christ provided for us an example to follow during our own temptations:

1. Our flesh

Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

LESSON - God is not holding out on you. If you do not have something, God has decided that you do not need it, at least right now. Trust that He will supply everything you need, physically and spiritually.

2. His faithfulness

V7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

LESSON - Don't dare God. Seek Him BEFORE decisions are made so that when consequences arise from your foolish decisions, you will not be tempted to question His faithfulness towards you.

3. Your worship

V10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

LESSON - Whatever you serve is what you are worshipping. Typically, we tend to serve that which provides us the easiest path. Satan would probably rather have had Jesus take His throne on earth by power instead of the Cross, but that would have been problematic for us. He did not choose the easiest path, nor should we. Neither money, nor position, nor fame will help you achieve the plans God has for you quicker than God's timing. Don't look to those things as the solution to your problems. If you do, you may unintentionally offer them the worship that only Christ deserves.
