The Prayer Of Faith

Updated: Jun 11

Here are the doors God sets before our prayer life:

1. A relationship with Jesus

Mk 11:23-26 “Have faith in God.”

2. Faith in God’s ability to fulfill your request.

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

3. Belief that your request is in accordance with God’s will, knowing your desires must match God’s desires.

“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

4. A clean, forgiving heart.

“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

LESSON - Too many Christians ignore this passage of scripture for fear of identifying themselves with prosperity theology preachers. However, understanding it’s proper context will allow us to receive the full benefits of Jesus’ teaching regarding this very important subject. The overarching principle revealed here is the benefits of CLOSE fellowship with Christ. This is the key which unlocks EVERY door set before your prayer life. Sumner Wemp always said “There is nothing that a good ‘ole fashioned love for Jesus can’t overcome.” I believe it!
