The prayer of a humble, honest man.

Writer: mcoker7mcoker7

Job 42:1-6 “Then Job answered the LORD, and said,”

1. God you are omnipotent.

“I know that thou canst do every thing,”

2. You are omniscient

“and that no thought can be withholden from thee.”

3. My power & knowledge are limited.

“Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.”

4. Hear me, oh God and speak to me! I am eager to listen!

“Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear:”

5. I’m ready to see my situation from your perspective.

“but now mine eye seeth thee.”

6. I am guilty! Forgive me!

“Wherefore I abhor myself,”

7. I am ready to whole-heartedly repent.

“and repent in dust and ashes.”

LESSON - We should strive to engage God on this level often. To go through your day assuming that your fellowship with the Lord is sweet just because there is no obvious sin present is a mistake! Take time every day to ask the Lord to allow His Holy Spirit to reveal to us the things that He already sees. God will always reveal something which requires humble admission and genuine repentance. Keep that fellowship sweet!
