The New Heaven & Earth Part 2

Updated: Jun 11

In this New World remade by God, we have a glimpse of what God intended our world to be before sin entered. The most significant difference between this land and Eden will be the absence of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Notice a few more aspects of our eternal home:

1. The Tree of life sustained by the river flowing from God’s throne.

Rev. 22:1-5 “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

2. We will eat from it freely. Angels will not need to keep it secure because the curse is not present.

“And there shall be no more curse:”

3. We will have the privilege of serving the Lord forever

“but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:”

4. Our faith will become sight.

“And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.”

5. We will rule and reign with Him.

“And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.”

LESSON - Until these things come to pass, God expects us to remain obedient and faithful. May we spend our days working with eternity in mind, looking for opportunities to bring others to Him, and living each day with anticipation of His imminent return.

V7, 12-13, 20a “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen.”

I close with this final exhortation from V20b-21, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
