Between the day you are born and the day you die, there is a dash representing your entire life. What does that dash say about you? What’s your goal in life? Among many things, a sincere desire to be like Jesus should be at the top of every Christian’s list.
1. When did this process begin? A - The day you get saved.
Phil. 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you...”
2. When will this process be completed? A - The day you are completely delivered from sin.
“...will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”
3. What should emanate from a Christlike life between those two points in time?
• Agape love
V9-11 “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more
• Mature discernment
“in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent;”
• Pure motive
“that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;”
• Holiness
“Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.”
LESSON - When speaking of the dash which appears on everyone’s tombstone, Mark Twain put it so aptly. “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”
