Does your light shine brightly? Isiah referred to Jesus, the Messiah as the Light of the world shining for people who walk in darkness. When Jesus came, he told believers that they now are the light. He, in essence, gave us his ministry to continue until he returns. What are we to do:
1. Reflect God’s glory in the person that you ARE before God and in the life that you LIVE before others.
Mt 5:14-16 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick;”
2. Be a faithful witness at home.
“and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.”
3. Be a faithful witness in the community.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
LESSON - This passage of scripture is the litmus test to determine if our lives are truly making a difference for the cause of Christ. If we are not living our faith “out loud” before God and others, we’re really not making a difference. The value of a person’s life is not determined by the accumulation of things, but in the lasting legacy made in the lives of others for eternity.
