This passage begins with a National prayer of blessing in Num. 6:22-27 “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,”
1. God’s Provision & protection
“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:”
2. God’s Peace
“The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
3. God’s Possession
“And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.”
LESSON - Earlier in this chapter, great detail is given to Israelites who choose to take the vow of a Nazarite. These were people who willingly chose to separate themselves from the world and consecrate themselves unto God. The closest NT equivalent would be the individual who desires to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Do you desire for Him to have complete control of you? Begin by repenting of all known sin, then praying the Prayer of Blessing of God upon your life as Moses did for Isreal. REMEMBER, the goal is not to get more of Him, but for Him to have more of you!
