God calls all men, everywhere to repent. Henry Blackaby enumerated in his book “Experiencing God”that God speaks through the Bible, the HS, prayer, the church, and circumstances to reveal His will unto man. He desires fellowship with all men, but that is not possible until repentance occurs. Thankfully, God is loving and patient but NOT forever.
1. He speaks to us on many occasions.
Job 33:14-18 “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.”
2. He does what is necessary to capture our attention.
“In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;”
3. He reveals truth to us once we become receptive and confirms it by the HS.
“Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose,
and hide pride from man.”
4. He does this to protect The Lost from hell and Believers from physical death.
“He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.”
LESSON - Often we fail to perceive God speaking to us because we are so distracted by our flesh and the world. Also, sin is fun until the payment comes due. God has the ability to capture our attention. And once sin is revealed, pride becomes a motivating factor for staying the course rather than repenting. It is our faith and the convicting power of the Holy Spirit which reminds us that there is a price to be paid for sin. If you have experienced such conviction, turn now while God remains patient!
