Pray for your Pastor!

Consider your relationship with your Pastor. How often do you pray for him? How often do you attempt to encourage him? He has an overwhelming responsibility to lead, teach, and shepherd his congregation. We should do everything possible to ease his burden and assist him in his labor. Consider these points in the scripture:

1. If your Pastor has faithfully taught and administered the word of God, you should pay him well.

1 Tim. 5:17-20 “Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.”

2. Do NOT engage in gossip regarding your Pastor.

“Against an elder receive not an accusation,”

3. If there is provable evidence of open sin in the life of ANY Believer (including Pastors), it should be confronted in order to promote a spirit of repentance.

“but before two or three witnesses. Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.”

LESSON - God will hold Pastors accountable for their congregation. James 3:1 “My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.” Do everything within your power to make his journey lighter and his reward greater. PRAY FOR YOUR PASTOR!
