Pain’s not always a bad thing.

It’s interesting to follow the relationship God has maintained with His people throughout history. Notice the balance between their needs and their reliance upon the Lord.

1. They experienced pain.

Ex. 2:23-25 “And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage,”

2. They called out to God.

“and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.”

3. God heard all of their prayers.

“And God heard their groaning,”

4. God kept His promise.

“and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.”

5. God moved on their behalf.

“And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.”

LESSON - Pain is not always a bad thing, especially when it increases our reliance upon the Lord instead of ourselves. If we would merely recall the promises God offers us in His word, live in accordance with those promises, and pray according to the will of God, we would see God continually moving on our behalf. So, what do you need from the Lord?
