In times of trouble when emotional turmoil combines with outward trials, our strength often melts away. Just like Job, our natural inclination is to complain about our circumstances. Also like Job, it is during these times we should remember the promises God has given unto us as Christians. Take time to reflect upon those things which are eternal.
1. Even in death when my body and soul separate, God is still there.
Job 30:22-23 “Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride upon it,
and dissolvest my substance.”
2. He will take me to the place He has prepared for me.
“For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.”
LESSON - I’ve heard many pastors repeat this phrase over my lifetime. “If all I ever receive this side of heaven is salvation, I already have more than I deserve. Everything else is added blessing!” Consider this the next time problems overwhelm you and you are tempted to complain.
