It’s been said that the word “love” is the most overused word in the English language. Agape love which is translated in the KJV as charity, describes the love that Jesus displayed towards us when he went to The Cross. It describes a love that is shown, as well as verbalized. Compare your love for others with His love for you.
1. Are you patient?
1 Cor. 13:4-8 “Charity suffereth long,”
2. Are you kind?
“and is kind;”
3. Are you humble?
“charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,”
4. Are you selfless?
“Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own,
5. Are slow to anger?
“is not easily provoked,”
6. Are you holy?
“thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;”
7. Are servant minded?
“Beareth all things,”
8. Are you teachable?
“believeth all things,”
9. Are you positive?
“hopeth all things,”
10. Are you committed?
“endureth all things.”
LESSON - This Christlike love is never ending.
“Charity never faileth:” SO...When you consider Jesus’ love towards you, how does your love for others measure up? Consider this the next time you tell someone “I love you!”
