Remember how far He has brought you, how much He has forgiven.
Lk 7:41-43 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
LESSON - The Jewish zealots were very proud people. They were under the impression that The Law had somehow imparted righteousness to them. As a result, they had developed a high level of piety causing them to look down upon those “sinners”. Unless we are careful, pride will rise up within us and create a pharisectical spirit which would lead us to believe that we are better than those who are still mired in sin. Take some time today to remember how far God has brought you and how much of YOUR sin he has forgiven. May a spirit of humility and compassion spur us on to help those still in need of God’s grace. I pray the Lord never allows me to forget that the only thing which separates me from the most wicked of sinners is the wonderful grace of Jesus. V47-50 “Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”
