The reasons why some will NOT be saved:
1. They go to great lengths to avoid conviction.
Lk 13:34-35 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee;”
2. They are obstinate in their spirit and do not desire the Lordship of Christ.
“how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!”
3. They waited too late, assuming that God would remain ever patient.
“Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.”
LESSON - Repentance is a hard step for people who desire to maintain control. The thought of allowing yet another person to make their decisions is unbearable. They do not realize that God can be trusted. He loves all of us more than we could ever love ourselves.
