The original covenant God established with Abraham was never intended for continuance because it was merely a foreshadowing of a better covenant. The pattern God offered to Moses was a picture of The Sanctuary in Heaven, administered by The High Priest, offering The Sacrifice, for The New Ministry to us.
1. A better High Priest - Jesus
Heb. 8:1 “We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;”
2. A better Sanctuary - Heaven
V2 “A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3. A better Sacrifice - His own blood
V3 “For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.”
4. A better Ministry - Intercession
V6 “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”
LESSON - It will all culminate when JESUS will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords during the Millennium. V10b-12 “I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Whatever you have used to fill the deep emptiness within, it will never complete you because Jesus is better!
