When you think of someone who others might describe as holy, many people come to mind for various reasons. Even as good as they are, they set a standard which IS attainable because they are human and inherently sinful. The Bible tells us that only One has set the ultimate standard and goal for us, Jesus Christ. This goal will never be reached this side of Heaven, but there is get reward and joy for the journey when we strive to live like Him:
1. In MIND
1 Pt. 1:13-16 “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;”
2. In BODY
“As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:”
3. In CONVERSATION
“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;“
LESSON - Remember that HE is our standard, not church leaders, faithful parents, mentors, or even Biblical figures. Jesus alone should be our example to follow. Be like Him!!
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
