Even if the whole world is against you, if the Lord is by your side you are in the majority.
Acts 23:10-12 “And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle. And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome. And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. LESSON - Paul had proclaimed the Gospel before a gathering of Jewish zealots. Both leaders and people alike desired to kill him because of his witness for Christ. In the light of the Gospel, this group of very religious people stood guilty before God and all wanted him silenced. Much like these people, our society could care less what we do within the confines of our homes and churches. The moment we witness for Christ in the community, the Holy Spirit declares them guilty and then they want us silenced by any means necessary. Remember that Jesus stands near us as well saying “Be of good cheer, for as thou hast testified of me here, so must thou bear witness also in another place.” Your witness will almost always draw some opposition, but remember God is by your side.
