God’s presence is not based upon our faithfulness, but His!

Moses knew that his time was done. God was now transitioning the leadership of Israel to Joshua before all of the people. Although God had informed Moses that the people would rebel, He still offered this promise before they entered the Promised Land.

1. To Isreal - Choose not to fear for God will not fail you!

Deut. 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

2. To Israel & Joshua - God will keep His promises.

V7 “And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.”

3. To Joshua - God will stay with you.

V23 “And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.”

LESSON - God has made a similar promise to us in the NT! In Mt. 28:20b God says “lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” This promise transcends even our disobedience. We may choose to live out of the WILL of God and out of FELLOWSHIP with God, but His PRESENCE is not based upon our faithfulness but His. Remember, God cannot and will not fail you! He always keeps His promises and He will not leave you!
