I caution you not to join the chorus of voices in our society that believe that we are a healthy nation because currently we are prosperous. As Christians, we are not called by God to just be fiscally conservative but to be godly. I was reminded of this again last night while watching a program where, once again, the homosexual agenda was promoted. God is not mocked, but thankfully He is very patient. We see in scripture that His patience does have a limit. We should pray for our country to repent and never reach that threshold before His return.
1. He overturns mighty nations.
Job 12:18-25 “He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty. He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.”
2. He brings corruption to light and lays bare ALL evil.
“He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death. He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.”
3. He uses a nation’s leadership to pronounce His judgment.
“He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.”
LESSON - Our hope is not in a man or a political party. Never forget that our hope must remain in the Lord. Song lyrics... “On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand!”
