Job continues to describe for his friends how evil seems to prosper during our lifetimes. Though God may delay His judgment upon the wicked, Job reveals in this passage that God is not mocked and will balance the scales in His timing. Even though evil men may feel at times that they have escaped the eyes of justice, they forget that our God has an “all seeing” eye.
Job 24:15 “The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight,
saying, No eye shall see me:
and disguiseth his face.”
1. The wealth of evil men will evaporate at the point of death.
V19-20 “Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.”
2. His legacy will detestable and eventually forgotten.
“The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered;
and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.”
3. He will be humbled in due time.
V 24 “They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.”
LESSON - 1 Pt. 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” Rest assured that God will set things right and evil men WILL receive their just reward.
