Faith is a work of the heart established in the word of God and used for God’s glory. Groups that have sought other means of knowing God have failed in their attempts, such as:
1. The Jews - Led by sight.
1 Cor. 1:22-25, 31
“For the Jews require a sign,”
2. The Greeks - Led by their mind.
“and the Greeks seek after wisdom:”
LESSON - True Believers know that we can only experience God by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8-9), not through feelings/experiences or human rationale. Others who require a “worship experience/feeling” or “scientific explanation” to believe will never know Him by FAITH ALONE.
“But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.“ Don’t depend upon what you think or feel. Trust God’s word, believe and act in obedience by faith, and leave the rest up to the Lord. You will learn that sometimes your feelings and intellect can be used of the enemy to deceive you. That’s when you will learn to lean upon the Lord and His word and truly live by faith. Then, you will experience God’s blessings on your life and He will take great joy in being glorified through you.
