Eyes of Faith

Updated: Jun 11

There’s nothing, including the literal storms of life that can change or even delay God’s sovereign plan from being fulfilled. We must believe this even when our eyes tell us otherwise. God had a plan for Paul and it was going happen.

Acts 27:24-15; 22-25

1. Circumstances would lead me to be afraid.

“And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.”

2. Faith gives courage to choose a different response.

(Paul said) “And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.”

3. God’s word reminds us of His presence, His plan, & His power.

“For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.”

LESSON - Emotions are natural responses to the circumstances of life, but they do not have to control our responses. Lean upon God‘s word, let Him increase your faith, and trust in God‘s character to accomplish a perfect plan that you cannot see. It will always be exactly what you need!
