Christianity is just one generation from extinction!

Updated: Jun 11

One of the reasons Christianity has struggled to maintain solid doctrine throughout generations is because too many of its leaders have failed to pass on to the next generation the things they learned from the Lord. Just prior to the leadership transitioning from Moses to Joshua, God gave Moses instructions for passing on the knowledge of the offerings and sacrifices to the next generation of Israelites, those who would soon enter the Promised Land. They were to be performed:

1. For the right reason - The offerings and sacrifices were commands!

Num. 28:1-2 “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me,”

2. At the right time - Many served on specific dates to remind the nation of God’s faithfulness to them in the past.

“shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.”

3. For everyone - Even the leadership needed to be reminded that they were also sinners in need of atonement.

V30 “And one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you.”

LESSON - Many things done in church are for the purpose of passing on the faith to future generations. It is our responsibility as Believers to obtain an understanding of our Biblical doctrine, to have knowledge of our church traditions and their rationale, and maintain the NT version of OUR sacrifices (worship) and offerings (stewardship). Finally, we must be faithful to pass on to our children the knowledge of the Lord and His Church. I sincerely hope that you are preparing yourselves to pass on to your family the things that you have learned from the Lord.
