As Moses begins to recount Isreal’s history in Duet. 2 to the children of the nation’s fallen, he reminds them of God‘s faithfulness. God did so even as they experienced the consequences of their unbelief.
1. God’s provision
V7 “For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.”
2. God’s protection
V25 “This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.”
3. God’s power
V36b “there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us.”
LESSON - Prov. 24:16a says “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again”. This is one of the more important verses upon which a believer should meditate. It reiterates the lesson Israel learned that even in their disobedience, God was not done blessing them. If in our disobedience we choose to repent, we may also be the recipients of God’s blessings because of His faithfulness. God‘s provision, protection, and power are also available to us. God wants to see us restored so that we might glorify Him before all nations. That’s how our lives might truly be a testimony of God‘s wonderful grace!
