Mt 16:1, 4, 12 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas.
Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
LESSON - Beware the doctrine of men, not God. Mankind says that if it’s real you can see it and/or feel it. God says that you must first believe it, then you will experience it. The Message of Jonah to the nation of Nineveh was “REPENT” or experience destruction. The only sign they would experience of this truth if they chose NOT to believe would come too late. When God reveals truth to you through His word, the HS confirms it in your heart, and God offers you clear affirmation through answers to prayer, go do it! Faith does NOT need a sign. Jn 9:4 “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”
