Are you perfect?

Updated: Jun 11

Then how good are you? The Bible is pretty clear. Rom. 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” but yet, God still desires for us to obtain sinlessness which we have no ability to attain on our own. Rom. 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” and Mt. 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” However, mankind has always tried to reach God’s standard through personal self-righteousness which is of the Law, only to fail. Here’s what you need to know about your own goodness and the Law (10 Commandments) you were trying to follow:

1. The insufficiency of the Law

V19. “For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.”

2. The sufficiency of Jesus’ sacrifice.

V25 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”

LESSON - By Gods grace Believers have been justified! Because of his mercy, we will one day stand before God sinless and perfect not because of our goodness or obedience but because of His sacrifice for our sins. Stop trying to be good, seek Christ to help you become godly!
