Answers for the finite mind

When we cannot understand why God does some things or why he allows certain things to happen, we struggle because we feel a desperate need to completely understand His ways. The problem is that a finite mind cannot completely comprehend the foresight or logic of an infinite God. Why answer the question “why” if the logic simply is incomprehensible to the hearer? So that Job might grasp part of this concept, God asks him a series of questions which we also should answer for ourselves.

Q - Job 39:1 “Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?”

A - NO

Q - V9, 11 “Will the unicorn (antelope) be willing to serve thee,

or abide by thy crib? Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?”

A - NO

Q - V27 “Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

A -NO

LESSON -For us to understand all of God’s ways is to a lesser equivalent like explaining physics to an infant. He lacks the ability to understand higher concepts, much like we lack the ability to understand God. We are like the ostrich who forgets where she lays her eggs. Notice God’s explanation for why this happens in v17 “Because God hath deprived her of wisdom,

neither hath he imparted to her understanding.” Is God cruel to allow this creature to leave in ignorance? NO. Neither is He cruel to withhold answers that we cannot understand.
