Consider these seeming contradictions in scripture.
Gen. 1:2-5 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Gen. 1:16-19 “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
LESSON - How could there have been light on Day 1 without a sun and moon which he created on Day 4? The answer is simple if you believe in a limitless God. God did not need the sun or moon to create light. This is reiterated in Rev. 22:5 “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.” The answer is simply this, Gen 1:1 “In the beginning God”. With Him, nothing is impossible!
