When faith doesn’t feel good

Jn. 6:26-27 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. LESSON - What do you desire from God? If you serve the Lord and follow Him b/c He makes you feel good, your journey won’t last forever. These people were filled, not with the Spirit but food He had multiplied. They wanted more, not of Him but what He had provided them. He was pretty direct regarding our senses. If you are living for things that you can see, hear, taste, smell, or feel, you are wasting your life. Some may say that God has provided these things so should we not enjoy them. Yes, but not worship them b/c that’s idolatry. To worship (continual occupied thoughts, attention, resources, and focus) that which was created by Him rather than the One who created it is sin. Why do you follow him? To spend time with Him or to receive “the stuff” He can provide? Mt 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” SEEK HIM!!
