Things are not “out of control”!

Because God is sovereign, He has the ability to use bad situations to accomplish His will.

1. He commanded the Apostles to spread out after Pentecost, carrying the Gospel to Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria.

Acts 1:8

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

2. The believers in Jerusalem did not obey, so God utilized the persecution within the city to accomplish His will.

Acts 8:1-2, 5-6, 8

“And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake. And there was great joy in that city.”

LESSON - Once you realize that you can trust the sovereignty of God to keep you and protect you, you can live life without fear. Regardless of the circumstances of life, natural disasters, or evil men, God has the ability to accomplish His will in and through us. Our part is to simply obey and have faith that GOD IS IN CONTROL!!!
