The Center of our Worship

Updated: Jun 11

From beginning to end, the word of God is His story. What was prophesied in Genesis is now revealed in Revelation. We should never allow the focus of our worship to drift to lesser things such as entertainment or emotion (V4&5). Jesus ALONE should be the center of our attention during worship. Here’s why:

1. No one other than Jesus was worthy to redeem the deed to all of creation (the book).

Rev. 5:2 “And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

2. His sacrifice declared His worthiness to open the book.

V9 “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;”

3. He will set right all that which was made wrong by sin.

V10 “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”

4. All of redeemed creation will worship Him eternally.

V14 “And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.”

LESSON - Notice the worship offered to Jesus Christ in eternity. Prepare yourself now for what you will do there forever!

V13b “Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”
