Within this chapter, we see a clear description of what a world without churches will look like. Here God allows demonic forces to influence world powers to destroy 1/3 of an unrepentant humanity which remains. Notice their response and behaviors AFTER the destruction:

Rev. 9:16-21 “And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands,”

1. Occultism Worship

“that they should not worship devils,”

2. Idolatry

“and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:”

3. Murder

“Neither repented they of their murders,”

4. Unbridled drug use (greek word “pharmakeia”)

“nor of their sorceries,”

5. Sexual perversion

“nor of their fornication,”

6. Looting

“nor of their thefts.”

LESSON - Once these people have rejected the Gospel and hardened their hearts towards God, NOTHING will bring about repentance. We already see the vestiges of this in our society today. Our churches have been established by God in order to win as many people as possible, as well as withstand the coming tide of evil which seeks to overwhelm this world. We must do our jobs effectively with the time that remains. We MUST stand for righteousness, continue to flee sin, and be bold in our witness. After the rapture there will be no desire for repentance. Everyone you know will spend eternity somewhere. What are you doing to make a difference?
