Heaven will make the struggle worth it!

We see many people struggle through life. Sometimes we may tend to question God’s level of equity regarding people who experience hardship greater than most. Job offers a prayer in this passage that reminds us of the eternal perspective for which we should all strive.

1. Life is brief and because of sin, it is expectedly hard.

Job 14:1-2 “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.”

2. Whether one be a mighty man or a sinful frail man (two different Hebrew words for man), both die.

V10 “But man dieth, and wasteth away:

yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?”

3. There is a promise of resurrection for the Believer.

V14-17 “If a man die, shall he live again?

all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.”

4. God has covered all of our sins and completely forgiven us.

“For now thou numberest my steps:

dost thou not watch over my sin?

My transgression is sealed up in a bag,

and thou sewest up mine iniquity.”

LESSON - Sin will always hold varying degrees of difficulty in this life, but it does affect everyone. Regardless of how good or bad life may seem, everyone dies! Becoming too preoccupied with the cares of this life will cause us to ignore the life which is to come. For a Believer, knowing that our sins are all forgiven helps us cope with the struggles of this life. Life may be tough, but praise the Lord it’s also brief! Eternity will make every struggle which we endure here worthy it. The BEST is yet to come!
